In the past year, Verizon Wireless has started making a concerted push for the smart earbud market.
The company launched its latest wireless earband in September, a wireless earphone with a built-in microphone, and then began selling the earbuddies on their website.
While the company says the earphones have a variety of features, including a built in microphone, they’re also available for $59.99.
The earbuddy is made of a thin material that is designed to feel like leather, but unlike a leather earbout, it doesn’t have a rubber band that can trap your ears in a hard-to-reach position.
Verizon has also included a rubber bumper to help keep your ears from rattling around.
These are all things that would be a big selling point for any smart earphone, but it’s also worth noting that Verizon’s earbunny is also compatible with the company’s wireless phones.
The wireless earphones are currently priced at $99.99 and can be purchased from Verizon for $29.99 on a two-year contract.
Verizon is not alone in having a smart earband on the market.
Motorola has also introduced a smart wireless earpiece in its Moto X line of phones.
Motorola started selling the Moto X smart wireless headsets back in November of last year, but that price has not changed since.
While Moto Xs are more expensive than Verizon’s smart earpieces, Motorola is charging more for its earbunners.
